How much does the battalion cost to join?
Membership in our battalion is completely free, and we strive to make sure that money does not serve as a barrier to joining our battalion.
Is JROTC just a military recruitment program?
Although JROTC may have begun as a program to prepare students for military, it now serves a completely different purpose. JROTC is designed primarily to teach students to be better citizens, leaders, and communicators. Our battalion does not seek to recruit cadets into the military, and the activities done within the program are not preparation for military service.
What will students learn from joining the battalion?
The JROTC curriculum seeks to promote the development of the core abilities: capacity for life-long learning, communication, responsibility for actions and choices, good citizenship, respectful treatment of others, and critical thinking techniques. Our battalion also seeks to help students with leadership development and service within the community.
